What it is like
A ginger family herb. The false stems are 1 m tall. The leaves do not have leaf stalks. The leaves are oblong to sword shaped and 20-30 cm long by 4-6 cm wide. There are a few hairs underneath. The flowering shoot comes from the rhizome. It is oblong and 15-30 cm long. The flower lobes on the tube have a purple stripe.
Where it is found
It is a tropical plant. It grows in dense forests in southern China. In Yunnan.
