What it is like

A large woody creeper. It grows 3-5 m long. The young branches are yellowish-brown. The leaves are oval and 2-7 cm long by 1-3 cm wide. There are small lumps underneath. The flowers are pale yellow and have a scent. They are 6 mm across and occur in groups or 2-4. The fruit is oblong and 7-10 mm long by 3-4 mm wide. They are black when ripe.


Where it is found

It is a tropical plant. It is native to Sichuan and Yunnan in China. It grows in forests and near river banks between 1,500-3,900 m above sea level.
