What it is like

A herb. It keeps growing from year to year. It grows 20-80 cm high. It has a few stems which hang over. The leaves occur in pairs. They are 2.5-7 cm long by 1-3.5 cm wide. They are papery and paler underneath.

There are about 400 Hypericum species. Also put in the family Clusiaceae.


Where it is found

A subtropical plant. In China is grows in grassy places and along streams between 100-1700 m altitude. In Sichuan and Yunnan.
