What it is like
A tree. It grows 19 m tall. The trunk can be 30 cm across. The leaves are simple and alternate. They are oval to sword shaped. The flowers are yellow and 4 mm across and in the axils of leaves. The fruit is a capsule 1 cm long. It is green and has 6 lobes. The seeds are covered by orange-red arils or fleshy layers. Possibly now Phyllanthus obscurus.
Where it is found
It is a tropical plant. It grows in secondary forests and along river banks up to 1,500 m above sea level.
