What it is like

A herb. It grows 1 m tall. The stems are 4-8 mm thick and covered with hairs. The leaves are 10-24 cm long with 7-11 pairs of leaflets. These are 7-26 mm long by 4-20 mm wide. The pods is 5-6 cm long by 1 cm wide.

There are 2,000 Astragalus species.


Where it is found

It is a cool temperate plant. In north China it grows between 1,400-2,400 m above sea level.
