What it is like

A medium sized annual herb. It is hairy. The leaflets are oblong and have a few hairs. The flowers are bright yellow. They are 13-16 mm across. They are in rings along the stalk. The pods are 40-50 mm long. They are densely hairy. They are black when ripe.

There are about 200 Lupinus species.


Where it is found

It is a Mediterranean climate plant. They grow in light acid and sandy soils.
