What it is like

A creeper that loses its leaves. The leaves are narrowly oval and 6-10 cm long by 3-5 cm wide. The base is wedge shaped. The leaves are green underneath. The flowers are pink. Male and female flowers are on separate plants. They occur singly in the axils of leaves. The fruit are bright red and fleshy with a stone inside. They are 1 cm long.


Where it is found

It is a temperate plant. It is native to western Hubei in China. It grows between 1,500-1,800 m altitude.
