What it is like

A woody vine. It grows 3-6 m long. The leaves are compound. They have leaflets arranged like fingers on a hand. There are 5 to 7 leaflets. They are 5-13 cm long and 2-6 cm wide. They are light grey underneath. The flowers are white and have a scent. The fruit are oblong and 8-12 cm long by 2 cm wide and purple. They are edible.

Also put in the family Lardizabalaceae.
