What it is like

A palm. Usually a clump grow together. The stem are usually curved. It grows 2-3 m tall and the trunks are 6-10 cm across. There are 5-7 leaves at the crown. They are about 1 m long and usually hang down. There are 40-50 leaflets along each side and these can be in clusters and point at different angles. They are silvery green underneath. The fruit are narrowly oval and greenish-yellow. They are 3-4 cm long by 1.5-2 cm wide or slightly larger. The seed is narrow and 12-15 mm long by 10 mm wide.

It is a tropical plant. It grows in sandy soils.
