What it is like
A shrub or small tree. It grows 1-6 m tall. The leaf blades are 8-25 cm long by 4-10 cm wide. The flowers are white and have a scent. The fruit are oval and 4-5 cm long by 3-4 cm wide.
There are about 200 Gardenia species.
Where it is found
A tropical plant. It grows in coastal central Queensland in Australia from sea level to 400 m altitude.
