What it is like

The leaves are dark green and thin in texture. The flowers are 1-2 cm long and pink or violet. They are crowded in clusters in the axils of leaves. The fruit is a capsule 1.2-1.8 cm long.
There are about 80 Hygrophila species. They grow in the tropics.
