What it is like

A shrub or small tree. It grows 1-5 m tall. The leaves have 3-5 leaflets. The leaflets are oblong and greenish yellow underneath. The central leaflet is 3-6 cm long. The flowers are in groups of 3-7. The flowers are white flushed with pink or blue. The fruit is round and 1 cm across.

Also put in the family Verbenaceae.


Where it is found

It is a subtropical plant. It grows on mountain slopes in mixed forests between 1,800-3,500 m above sea level. In Sichuan and Yunnan.
