What it is like
A shrub or small tree. It can grow 30 m tall and the trunk be 40 cm across. It can be a climber on trees. The leaves are alternate and simple. The flowers are 3 mm across. They are bell-shaped and greenish white. The fruit are green to black and 5 mm across.
Where it is found
It is a tropical plant. It can grow in freshwater swamps and on poor sandy soil. It grows up to 1,800 m above sea level.
