What it is like
A tree. The bark is dark brown. The leaves have 2-4 leaflets. They are oblong and 7-18 cm long by 3-6 cm wide. The flowers are in panicles 30 cm long. The fruit is a flattened round berry. It is 1-2 cm across.
There are about 35 Turpinia species with 12 in tropical America.
Where it is found
A tropical plant. It grows in forests in valleys in southern China. It grows between 1,000-2,000 m above sea level. In Sichuan and Yunnan.
