What it is like
An orchid. It grows to about 15 cm high. There is one leaf. It is 5-11 cm long by 2-4 cm wide. It is oval and the base sheaths the stem. The flowers are very small. They are green.
There are about 300 Malaxis species. Most are in the tropics.
Where it is found
A tropical and subtropical plant. In Nepal it grows between 2100-3500 m altitude.
