What it is like
A large shrub or small deciduous tree. It grows 7 m tall. The leaves are large and bright green. They are simple and smooth. They are 18 cm long and have deep veins. The leaf stalks have grooves. The flowers are white and light yellow. These are in large groups at the ends of branches. The flowers have long tubes. The fruit are blue to black and berry like. They are in the centre of the flowers.
There are about 400 Clerodendrum species.
Where it is found
A tropical plant. It is native to Sulawesi, Indonesia. It grows in the humid tropical lowlands. It suits hardiness zones 10-12.
