What it is like

A small fan palm. It forms clusters. The leaf sheaths persist on the trunk. The fruit are white and round. They mature to yellow then dark brown.

There are 3-5 Trithrinax species. They grow in South America.


Where it is found

They are normally along the banks of streams. They are drought tolerant. They can tolerate cold. They grow in the drier parts of southern South America.
