What it is like

A tree. It grows 20 m tall. The leaves are clustered and arranged in spirals. They are shiny and dark green. They are 19-21 cm long by 7-8 cm wide. The flowers are below the leaves. The fruit are 4-5 cm long. It has a pale brown skin.


Where it is found

It is a tropical plant. It is recorded near 600 m above sea level in Costa Rica.
