What it is like

A herb. It keeps growing from year to year. It grows 60 cm tall. The leaves are 11 cm long by 10 cm wide. The flowers occur in rings of 6. There can be 2 or 3 rings of these in a group. They are yellowish-green. The lobes are purple-brown. The fruit are fleshy and oval or pear shaped.

It is a temperate plant. It grows in pine forests and in sunny places near streams between 1,900-2,900 m above sea level in China. In Sichuan.
