What it is like
A shrub or small tree. It is evergreen. It grows 13 m high. The trunk can be fluted and 60 cm across. The leaves have a notch at the end. They are dark green above. The flowers have a fused tube. Male and female flowers are on separate trees.
Where it is found
It is a tropical plant. It grows on the edge of forests and in moist savannah woodland. It is usually along river banks.
