What it is like
A straggling shrub or small tree. It can be 5 m high. The leaves are simple and opposite. There are 3 varieties. The flowers are white.
Where it is found
It is a tropical plant. It grows in savannah woodland and on the edges of forests. In Nigeria it is recorded at 1,440 m above sea level. It is often along rocky stream banks.
