What it is like
A shrub. It grows 1.6 m tall. It keeps growing from year to year but loses its leaves during the year. The leaves are narrowly oval or sword shaped and opposite or in clusters. The flowers are tube shaped. They are 5 cm long and have 4 curling lobes. Flowers can be orange, red or yellow.

It is a temperate plant. It can grow in the desert and on sandy soils.
