What it is like
A pumpkin family herb. It is a climbing vine. The stems and branches are slender and angular. The leaves are narrowly oval or heart shaped. They are 10-16 cm long by 6-11 cm wide. They have teeth around the edge. The male flowers are in groups of 5-9 and the female flowers occur singly. The fruit are oval and 3 cm long by 2 cm wide.

It is a temperate plant. It grows in forests on mountain slopes between 2,100-2,400 m above sea level.
