What it is like
A small tree. It grows about 3-4 m tall. The leaves are large and dark dull green. They are more pale underneath. They are 25 cm long. The flowers are yellow or red. The fruit is oval and 7 cm long and 3 cm wide. They are shiny and bright red.
Where it is found
It is a tropical plant. In Papua New Guinea it grows in the lowlands and highlands. It has been recorded at about 1,000-1,745 m at Cape Rodney.
