What it is like
A tree. It grows 27 m tall. The trunk can be 20 cm across. The leaves are 7-37 cm long by 4-19 cm wide. Male and female flowers are separate. The fruit are 2-4 cm long by 2-3 cm wide. They are brown. The seeds are 12-20 mm long by 12-15 mm wide and black.
There is only one Sumbaviopsis species.
Where it is found
It is a tropical plant. It is scattered in forests. It grows from sea level to 800 m altitude. It grows in forests on limestones in 400-900 m above sea level. In Yunnan.
