What it is like

A vine. It loses its leaves during the year. The young branches are velvety. The leaves are oblong and 9-14 cm long by 4-7 cm wide. The flowers are orange. Male and female flowers are on separate plants. The fruit are round and 1.5 cm across. They are covered with dense rusty hairs.


Where it is found

It is a subtropical plant. It grows in Yunnan in southern China between 900-1,200 m altitude.
