What it is like

A cactus. It is a climbing plant which grows sprawling through forests. It has many aerial roots. The stems have 3 sharp angles. The edges are almost straight with slight bumps where the spine buds occur. They are 3-4 cm wide. There are 6-8 needle-like spines. The flowers are white and 20 cm long. The fruit are red. They are 2-5 cm long.

There are 18-24 Hylocereus species. In Slovenia probably in hot houses.
