What it is like

A herb. It grows 50-100 cm tall. The taproot is stout. The leaves at the base have leaf stalks. The leaves are oval or triangle shaped and 10-20 cm long by 8-15 cm wide. They are divided into 1 or 2 sets of leaflets. The last segments are 2-8 cm long by 2-4 cm wide. The flowers are in groups 6-12 cm across.


Where it is found

It is a temperate plant. It grows in grasslands and on the edges of forests between 500-2,900 m above sea level. In Sichuan and Yunnan.
