What it is like

A tree. It grows 6-8 m tall. The leaves and twigs are hairy. The leaves are narrowly oval and 7-22 cm long by 3.5-12 cm wide. The flowers hang down. The flowers are dull blue green and red to purple inside. The flowers are almost opposite the leaves and in groups of 1-2.

It is an endangered species.

It is a tropical plant. It grows by rivers on muddy slopes. It grows in forests between 100-250 m above sea level.
