What it is like

A shrub. It grows 2 m high. The older branches are grey while younger branches are reddish-brown. The leaves are grey-green and 7.5 cm long by 4 cm wide. They are oval and entire with raised veins underneath. There are 5-9 yellow flowers in a group. The fruit are violet-black. They have a bluish covering. They are round or oval and 12 mm across. The seeds have a net like surface.


Where it is found

It is a temperate plant. In Kazakhstan it grows on mountain slopes.
