What it is like
A herb that produces tubers. It grows 1-2 m tall. The stems are 2-13 mm across at the base. The leaves have 3-12 leaflets. These are 6 cm long and 3.5 cm wide. The fruit are 2-3 cm long and oval and green.
Where it is found
It is a tropical plant. In Mexico it grows between 1,870-2,870 m above sea level. It grows in openings in the cloud forest.
