What it is like

A shrub. It grows 1 m tall. It has prickles. The leaves are simple and 2-5 cm long by 1-2.5 cm wide. The fruit is a round berry 8-9 mm across. They are green but become orange to red when ripe.

There are about 1400 Solanum species.


Where it is found

A tropical plant. In Madagascar it grows from sea level to 1,000 m above sea level.
