What it is like
A slender climber. The stems are angular. They have a few hairs. The leaves are compound. There are 5 leaflets. These are oval and 5-7.5 cm long by 2-3.5 cm wide. The flowers are small and green. They occur in congested groups in the axils of leaves. The fruit are berries 0.6 cm across. They are black.
There are about 45 Cayratia species. They are mainly in tropical areas.
Where it is found
It is a warm temperate plant. It grows in moist rainforests in New South Wales and Queensland in Australia. It needs well drained soil.
