What it is like
A light green grass. It grows about 1 m tall. The stems are hollow. The leaf blades are 5-20 cm long by 3-10 mm wide. There are a group of spikes but they only have one flower. The flowering shoots is 10-30 cm long. The grain is 1.5 mm long. It has a tuft of hairs at the tip.
Where it is found
It grows in cold temperate regions. It grows in wetland prairies. It grows along rivers and in swampy meadows below 3,700 m above sea level in China. In Sichuan and Yunnan.
