What it is like
An annual hairy weed. It has an unpleasant smell. The leaves are alternate and deeply lobed. The lobes are also divided and end in a sharp point. The flowers are in dense heads. These are at the ends of the branches. They are surrounded by rigid, spiny, leafy bracts. These are also divided. The 5 sepals are also spiny.
There are 30 Navarettia species.
