What it is like
A large tree. It grows 70 m tall. The trunk is long and straight. The bark is grey-brown and have cracks along it. It has buttresses. The leaves are clustered at the ends of branches. The leaves are 50 cm long with 16-32 leaflets that are opposite. The leaflets are 14 cm long by 5 cm wide. The flowering shoots are 20 cm long and the flowers are white. The seeds are 9 cm long and 2 cm wide. They are dark brown.
The bark is used fro medicine. Edible insects often occur on the plant.

It is a tropical plant. It grows up to 1,350 m above sea level.
