What it is like
A shrub or small tree. It can grow 3-20 m tall. The trunk can be 40 cm across. The leaves are opposite and and 11-21 cm long by 4.5-6 cm wide. The fruit are round and 1-1.5 cm across. They are yellow when young and turn purple when ripe. They have a lemon smell.
Also put in the family Monimiaceae.
Where it is found
It is a tropical plant. It grows in the rainforest from sea level to 1,300 m above sea level.
