What it is like
A herb. It can be erect or lie down. It grows 50 cm tall. It forms new roots at the nodes of the stem. It is hairy. The leaves are oval and taper to a short tip. The leaves are 4 cm long by 2.5 cm wide. The flowers are in groups in the axils of leaves or at the ends of branches. They are funnel shaped and pale pink. The fruit is a capsule 2-3 mm long.
Where it is found
A tropical plant. In India it grows between 1,600-2,200 m above sea level. It grows in forests.

The young leaves are eaten as a vegetable, raw or cooked. They have a smell when crushed.
