What it is like

A shrub with several branches. It grows 1.5 m tall. The young branches have silky hairs. The older branches have bark that peels off. The leaves are alternate and fall off during the year. The leaves are compound with leaflets along the stalk. There are 3-7 leaflets 2 cm long. The flowers are yellow and saucer shaped. The fruit are egg shaped. They are 2 mm long. Possibly now Dasiphora fruticosa (L.) Rydb.


Where it is found

It is a temperate plant. In Canada it grows in wetlands including arctic and high altitude regions.
