What it is like

A small tree. The small branches are dark green. They have sharp spines. The leaves are broadly oval and 7-9 cm long by 3-4 cm wide. The leaf stalks are about 8 mm long and have very narrow wings. The flowers are white and in the axils of the leaves. They are about 1.5 cm across. The fruit are a flattened round shape and 2-2.3 cm long and 4.5 cm across.

There are 20 Citrus species. Several hybrids have been formed.


Where it is found

It is a subtropical plant. In Taiwan it grows at low altitudes.
