What it is like
A ground orchid. It loses its leaves during the year. It grows 20-40 cm high. They have crowded, fleshy pseudobulbs. They are 2-3 cm across. The leafy stem is 3-8 cm long. There are 3-5 leaves and they are 15-35 cm long by 4-8 cm wide. They are oval or sword shaped. They are dark green with wavy edges. The flower stem is 15-30 cm long. The flowers are 2 cm across and pale pink or white.
There are about 16 Geodorum species.
Where it is found
It is a tropical plant. It grows in hot climates. It grows in rainforest in high rainfall areas. It needs light shade and good drainage.
