What it is like
A big woody climber. It grows 10-30 m long. The branches and pods have silky hairs. The leaves are alternate and compound. They have an uneven number of leaflets along the stalk. There are 5-9 leaflets. They have silvery scales. The leaves are 7-25 cm long by 4-10 cm wide. The flowering shoots are in the axils of leaves. The fruit are pods with a rusty coating. They aee 5-8 cm long. There are 1-4 seeds.
There are about 180 Millettia species.
Where it is found
A tropical plant. It grows along water courses and in swampy places. It grows up to 1,200 m above sea level in Indonesia.
