What it is like

An evergreen tree. It is large and grows 35-45 m high. The trunk is straight and 100-130 cm across. The flowers are white. The fruit is an oval berry 2-2.5 cm across. There is one hard black seed inside.

There are about 110 Madhuca species. They are in Asia.


Where it is found

It occurs in subtropical dense forests. If occurs from 1,700-2,200 m altitude.
