What it is like
An erect herb. It grows 15-25 cm tall. It keeps growing from year to year from a tuberous rootstock. The leaves are simple and opposite. They are narrow and have small hairs. The flowers are in groups or 3-6 with equal length stalks. The flowers are 5 mm long and star shaped. They are cream and purple. The fruit is a narrow follicle and is slightly hairy.
