What it is like

A herb. It grows 6-20 cm tall. It keeps growing from year to year. There is a single stem 1-2 cm across. The lower leaves are in a ring and these and lower stem leaves have leaf stalks. The leaves are broadly oval or fan shaped. They are 1-8 cm long by 1-5 cm wide. There are teeth or lobes along the edge. The flowers heads are in large groups 3-7 cm across.


Where it is found

It is a temperate plant. It grows on rocky slopes and alpine scree slopes between 3,000-5,600 m above sea level in Tibet. In Yunnan.
