What it is like
A herb. It grows 0.6-1.4 m tall. It keeps growing from year to year. It has stout rhizomes. The stems branch towards the top. The lower leaves have leaf stalks. The leaves are oval and 8-19 cm long by 2-7 cm wide. The base is heart shaped or rounded. The leaves get smaller up the stem.
Where it is found
A temperate plant. It grows in mountain meadows and on the edges of forests between 1,400-3,700 m above sea level. In Sichuan and Yunnan.
