What it is like
A twining plant. The stems are trailing, leafless and jointed. It has a milky latex The flowers are in a flat topped arrangement with stalks from the same point and these are at the top of the plant. The flowers are white. The fruit are follicles that are broad at the base and narrow at the tip. The seeds are oblong and flat.
Several Sarcostemma have been changed to Cynanchum.
Where it is found
It is a tropical plant. It grows up to 900 m above sea level.
