A herb. It grows 10-30 cm tall. The stems are 4 sided and succulent. The leaf stalks have narrow wings. The leaves are broadly oval and 5-10 cm long by 2.5-4.5 cm wide. There are teeth along the edge. The fruit capsule is cup shaped and 4 sided.

It is a subtropical plant. In Yunnan.
