What it is like

A tree. It grows 35 m tall. The twigs are stout and densely hairy when young. The leaves are entire and clustered at the ends of branches. They have 3 lobes when young. The fruit are large and made up of 1-5 woody follicles. The seeds are black.

It is a tropical plant. It grows in mixed forest. In Colombia it grows between 200-900 m above sea level.
