What it is like
A shrub. It grows 2-3 m tall. The small branches are purple-brown. There are a few scattered prickles. The leaves are 5-13 cm long. There are 7-13 leaflets. These are narrowly oval and 1-4 cm long by 1 cm wide. The flowers occur singly and are red. The fruit or hips are 1-1.5 cm across. They are green-brown and flattened.
Where it is found
It grows in Yunnan in China. It grows in woods on open slopes between 2,700-3,000 m above sea level.
